The Cockatiel is a small parrot endemic to Australia. They make popular pets and breed well in captivity and as a caged bird, are only second to the Budgerigar.
Having had a pet Cockatiel as a kid, I know how well these little birds can breed!
They belong to the cockatoo family, although it has it's own subfamily, making it the smallest of the cockatoos!
