The Common Brushtail Possum is a nocturnal, semiarboreal marsupial native to Australia. It is the second largest possum species and is probably the most widespread marsupial in the continent, being found on both Tasmania and surrounding islands, all along the east coast of Australia, Northern Australia and populations in Western Australia.
Much like the Koala, the Common Brushtail Possum prefers a diet of Eucalyptus leaves, but will also eats flowers, fruits, shoots and seeds. It may also consume insects, birds' eggs and chicks, and other small vertebrates.
