Australian Birds as Saints Series
When looking at both saint paintings and Christmas cards throughout history, the Madonna and Child is an important image symbolizing birth, maternal instinct and unity. I wanted to represent this in the Australian landscape, and for me. Nothing represents this better than the Emu. The main difference however is that it is the male that looks after the chicks.
All cards are printed in Australia locally in Castlemaine, Victoria from 100% post-consumer recycled card stock.
